Who is EcoVoom?

We are a new company, formed for the sole purpose of helping to address Climate Change. EcoVoom is a part of Attribute Energy, an incubator for new ideas in eco- and energy finance. Attribute Energy is affiliated with Accent Energy, a leading energy services company that supplies electricity, natural gas and green power to commercial and residential customers across the United States.

EcoVoom is the brainchild of Lance Schneier, who also created both Attribute Energy and Accent Energy. Lance has been a pioneer in energy deregulation since he first envisioned how to give customers a choice of suppliers for electricity and natural gas over 25 years ago. Lance started the first independent natural gas marketing company by applying the model used to create competition among long distance telephone carriers. Accent Energy is a successor to Lance's original venture.

Accent Energy has marketed Green Power (eco-friendly electricity generated from renewable sources such as the sun and wind), but Lance felt that wasn't enough. Accent can only supply Green Power to customers in energy deregulated states. That deprives millions of customers in other states of the ability to purchase Green Power from Accent or anyone else. Furthermore, Green Power applies only to electricity consumption and doesn't impact other energy-intensive activities, such as driving or flying. Lance wanted to create opportunities for anyone - regardless of where they live or how they use energy - to help positively impact Climate Change.

EcoVoom did not create the concept of carbon offsets but Lance felt there was a better way to popularize their use. Lance and Thom Reichelderfer, an experienced retail energy marketing professional, established EcoVoom to put their ideas into practice.
